My name is Kyle Murphy, and I’m seeking donations to fund my upcoming mission trip to India. God has put it on my heart to not only share the Gospel, but witness the life and faith of a Christian outside of the United States. In all honesty, there are times where I feel guilty that I get to live in this country. We have it so easy. I often wonder what it is like to live in a country where church is held in secret, baptisms are conducted in the middle of the night, people having so little yet, possessing unparalleled joy, and Christians constantly facing persecution. Though India, a predominately Hindu nation, is not radically hostile to westerners, the government has been known to persecute local Christians. As stated, I personally want to gain perspective of the Christian walk outside the borders of the United States. I’m excited to see how God is going to use our group to affect lives in India, and strengthen my relationship with the Creator and Savior of the universe.
Here are a few details about the trip. We will be going as part of Hopegivers International, who have been operating in the country since 1960. We will fly into New Delhi and primarily operate in the state of Rajasthan. As a church, we will be visiting schools, leper colonies and churches, conducting service projects at orphanages, interacting with Indian children, and working with local pastors. The trip is ten days long and we will be leaving at the end of October.
